Committees and Programs

We are actively assembling supper committees for meetings going forward.  This will include October, November, December and then January through May.  Please contact Colleen at colleen@ct-solution.com to enroll.  This information is needed for the yearbook as well so we would appreciate a prompt response :-).  

As we return to normal, so do our monthly meetings and we need presenters for November onward.  If you have a program you would like to present, please contact John Seest at jaseest@att.net to choose a month for your committee work.  This information will also appear in the yearbook.

Member Updates
We always want to hear from you and learn about members’ creative pursuits.  If you have news to share, please drop Curt Churchman a note at cchurchmanx@aol.com and he will include it in our next member email.

October Meeting
The October meeting (yay!) will take place on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Bona Thompson beginning at 6 p.m. The dinner will be catered by Tim Costello and the program will feature our previous scholarship recipients (or reports thereof) followed by the Portfolio auction.

Auction
Rich Costello will be heading this year’s auction.  As you know, the proceeds from the auction help fund our scholarship activities so its a great cause to further the arts.  We’re seeking donations for the sale.  You know, the stacks of unrealized art under the bed and cool objects collecting dust in your basement?  Lets get that stuff into loving hands! 

Contact Rich  at richandmaggie@callcarpenter.com to arrange a donation.  Or feel free to bring things by Fine Estate (2158 N. Talbott St.) to drop during open hours (Tue-Fri 11-5 and Sat 11-3).   

Our season begins July 1, 2021 and we try to collect our annual dues by or before the picnic so that we can produce the yearbook and represent our active membership, etc.  We’re entering into this a little behind and ask that you please get with our Treasurer, Colleen at your earliest convenience to take care of 2021/2022 membership dues. 

Dues are $30 per member. The Portfolio Club Picnic is on Sunday, August 15, 2021.

You can pay with PayPal Colleen using her email – colleen@ct-solution.com. Choose the “Friends and Family” option so a fee is not incurred.  Or, pay at the picnic or mail Colleen a check.  Email Colleen with questions.

Bona Thompson Community Center

Our picnic meal will be catered by the most excellent Tim Costello.

The picnic will feature short (under 10 minute) performances by members.

We’ve decided to make this a cost-free event given that we had almost no expenses over our pandemic-inflicted 2020 schedule. The Executive Committee will supply beverages and appetizers and act as the supper committee.  Based on weather, we’re going to attempt to have this as an outdoor event, so please bring a folding chair or blanket for your comfort!  After our meal, we’ll have short performances (musical and anything else) by members. 

We ask that all attendees to the picnic to please be fully vaccinated.
